Apply to be a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist at Ascent Physical Therapy

About Us:

Ascent Physical Therapy is where endurance athletes and active adults from across Long Island can learn, grow, and achieve a life free of pain. We strive to ensure that our clients receive world-class customer care on top of the best possible physical therapy care.

Our ultimate goal is to get clients back to the life they wish to live. We also provide functional assessments for those who wish to improve their activity efficiency, performance, or the way they move in general.

We are a low-volume, cash-based clinic where treatment is not dictated by insurance companies. Your days will be spent helping clients one-on-one (not writing notes) to reach their fullest potential. You will be working with highly motivated people who value their health and time. And most of all, your own growth and personal development will always be a top priority.

About Our Founder:

Dr. Robert Berghorn, Jr. has over 10 years of experience as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. As both an active runner and triathlete, Dr. Rob established Ascent Physical Therapy to be THE premiere Long Island based clinic geared towards the endurance athlete community. Dr. Rob is a growing celebrity in the field, especially on Long Island, and is looking to increase his impact in the community via APT’s expansion.

We are currently seeking a committed and energetic Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team. Success in this role will be measured by successful treatment outcomes, customer satisfaction, timely and accurate documentation of clinical notes, as well as meticulous attention paid to current and former clients. This part-time position will start at 15-20 hours a week, with the potential for progression to full-time after 3-6 months or as the schedule continues to fill.

    • Educate patients on pelvic floor anatomy, function, and the role of physical therapy in their recovery.

    • Provide guidance on exercises, lifestyle modifications, and self-care strategies.

    • Participate in, contribute to, and help to develop in-house educational training programs.

    • Conduct client call backs and engage with clients who have dropped off the schedule.

  4. Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, orthopedic specialists, and fitness trainers, to ensure comprehensive care for patients.

    • Assist in the production of in-clinic workshops, trade shows, community-based races, and other marketing events.

    • Be on hand to participate in and contribute to the clinic’s social media activity.

  5. Specialized Areas:

    • Address incontinence issues, including stress, urge, and mixed incontinence.

    • Provide care for pregnant individuals, addressing musculoskeletal discomfort and pelvic floor support.

    • Work with pre- and post-partum clients, focusing on recovery and rehabilitation.

    • Address specific pelvic floor dysfunctions such as pelvic pain, prolapse, and dyspareunia.

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy with at least 3 years of experience in total and at least one year of experience in pelvic floor therapy.

  • Proven experience in treating pelvic floor dysfunctions in both male and female populations.

  • Ability to empathize and create a supportive environment for clients with a variety of different personalities.

  • Meet personal and team revenue/sales/productivity targets and performance-oriented metrics (measured bi-weekly).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Use clinical reasoning in treating and planning, implementing, and monitoring client progress.

  • Ability to write reports and correspondence at a professional level.

  • Ability to use computer and software proficiently.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on the latest research in pelvic floor therapy.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Passionate about physical therapy and committed to making a real transformation in people's lives.

  • Capable of growing and advancing within a company; your ideas and contributions will be welcomed and valued.

  • Flexible and open to change as our practice continues to grow and evolve.

  • Expertise in using a blend of sports physical therapy, injury prevention, and performance training to deliver the highest level of results to our clients.

  • Adept at building lasting relationships and trust with clients through open communication and empathy.

  • Competitive salary between $40-50 per hour, commensurate with experience.

  • Part-time position starting at 15-20 hours a week with the potential for progression to full-time.
